CMC and OhioHealth present: Our Healthy Community
No one should live in Denial, Ohio. That's the message the Ohio Opioid Education Alliance (OOEA) is trying to get across in a multi-million dollar advertising campaign that will run through 2019. The OOEA is a public-private partnership made up of 14 corporations, non-profit organizations, and government bodies who are dedicated to tackling the opioid crisis facing Ohio.
The common frustration among Ohioans is that something must be done about the opioid epidemic, but what? With drug overdose deaths in Franklin County rising 47% in 2017 over 2016, Central Ohio is feeling the pressure.
CMC will host a panel discussion focusing on where Ohio currently stands in its fight against opioid addiction and what hope is on the horizon, featuring Chad Jester, president of the Nationwide Foundation, one of the founding organizations of the OOEA, and front-line advocates Shawn Holt, President & CEO of Maryhaven Inc., David Royer, CEO of the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County (ADAMH), and Columbus Firefighter Tiffanie Paige.
