The debate over Issue 1 has stirred interest and curiosity amongst Ohioans, and has become a major talking point for Ohio's gubernatorial candidates.

The proposed constitutional amendment would greatly change the drug laws in the state, including the reclassification of certain drug felonies into misdemeanors, reduced prison sentences for convicts who complete rehabilitation programs, and more.

To help voters get a better understanding of Issue 1, CMC welcomes Stephen JohnsonGrove, Deputy Director for Policy at the Ohio Justice & Policy Center and State Senator Cecil L. Thomas (in support of Issue 1), and Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor and Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Stephen L. McIntosh (opposed to Issue 1). Jo Ingles, Journalist at Ohio Public Radio and Television Statehouse News Bureau, hosts.
